The Problem Our client relies upon account data from a particular vendor who only allows access via their propietary Web site. Retrieval is a simple process from the user's vantage, but given the quantity needed, the process requires over 100 man-hours and roughly 37000 mouse clicks each month. This mass effort delays the time-sensitive processing that is dependent on this data. The Requirements Simulate human navigation of a Web site and data retreival from within Accomodate site flaws and error recovery to allow unattended processing

The Solution A simply utility was created to automate this data-retrieval process. It essentially navigates the vendor's Web site, scans it for data, and gather's the pertinent items. 37000 clicks was reduced to under 10 and 100 hours became seconds. Now our client has it's data before any staff arrives for work and enjoys a 2-day jump on processing this data.
